First Games – Design System
Created a scalable design system to unify branding, app UI, and campaign creatives across teams.
Year :
2023
Industry :
Gaming
Client :
First Games
Project Duration :
4 weeks

Problem
When I joined First Games, the design team had 15 members working across multiple categories (apps, banners, campaigns). While everyone followed brand colors, there was no unified standard, which caused:
Inconsistent icon styles (outline vs. filled).
Banner misalignments (left/right, different paddings).
Different UI treatments across apps and creatives.
OM and In-app marketing stakeholders often questioning “why doesn’t this feel like one brand?”
This inconsistency led to design debt, slower approvals, and lack of trust in design quality.

Research
Studied design systems in the gaming and fintech industry (Dream11, MPL, PayTM, MobiKwik).
Identified common practices around iconography, grids, color usage, typography, and components.
Benchmarked how brand consistency impacts user trust and retention.

Solution
Conducted cross-team workshops with Growth, Marketing, and Product to align on brand vision.
Built a comprehensive Design System covering:
Colors → defined primary, secondary, accent, and usage rules.
Typography → established hierarchy and usage across app + creatives.
Components → reusable buttons, inputs, banners, cards, popups.
Icons → consistent set (filled or outline, but not mixed).
Layout rules → alignment, spacing, and grid system for apps + marketing.
Documented guidelines so new designers could onboard quickly and follow standards.
Rolled out via Figma libraries + brand book PDF for cross-functional teams.
Result
Achieved brand consistency across all platforms (app, website, campaigns).
Reduced design review time by 40% (less back-and-forth with stakeholders).
Enabled faster output - new designers could ramp up in days, not weeks.
Strengthened brand identity, making First Games feel like one cohesive product.
