Problem

  • The EditorJi app and website featured rich AI-based video news and multiple language support (English, Hindi, Bengali), but the information architecture was cluttered, making it difficult for users to discover content efficiently.

  • Navigation was overwhelming with mixed categories (sports, tech, entertainment, lifestyle) and inconsistent layout, resulting in low session depth and poor discoverability.

Research

  • Conducted competitive analysis of top video news platforms to study navigation, categorization, and content hierarchy strategies.

  • Reviewed platform analytics to identify user drop-off points and underperforming content categories.

  • Collaborated with content and engineering teams to understand language-specific needs and localization challenges.

Solution

  • Restructured navigation into clear content categories (e.g., 'Latest', 'Sports', 'Tech', 'Web Stories') with intuitive sub-menu structure for mobile and desktop.

  • Implemented playlist-style browsing, inspired by EditorJi’s AI-driven video streams, to allow seamless vertical content discovery.

  • Standardized typography, spacing, and icon usage across the app and web to create a cohesive brand language.

  • Simplified language toggles and content filters to improve accessibility and personalization for multilingual users.

Impact

  • Improved average session duration and reduced bounce rates through navigational clarity.

  • Enhanced content discoverability, users engage more deeply across categories and languages.

  • Delivered a cohesive and visually consistent user experience across both platforms web and mobile.
