Ludo App Redesign & New Variant Launch
Revamped the Ludo app with a modern theme and introduced a new “Strike Ludo” variant. Designed complete user flows, inner screens, and animations for better engagement and brand consistency.
Year :
2025
Industry :
Ludo Game
Client :
First Games
Project Duration :
4 weeks

Problems
The existing Ludo app had two variants — Turn-based and Time-based. While functionality was solid, the overall theme lacked polish and did not reflect a premium, brand-level experience.
The product team wanted to launch a new variant – “Strike Ludo”:
A single-player challenge played on the same fixed board with identical dice rolls.
Users score points by moving pawns, capturing static pawns, and reaching home.
Needed seamless integration within the existing app without disrupting the current UX.

Research
Studied competitor Ludo apps to understand how they presented multiple variants.
Reviewed user behavior to identify the most intuitive way to add a third mode.
Benchmarked UI styles to bring the app closer to industry-leading visual standards.

Solution
Redesigned the app with a new modern theme and style aligned with First Games’ brand.
Introduced a third tab “Strike” alongside existing Turn and Time tabs, plus an “All” view to see every variant together.
Designed all supporting flows: lobby, results, tournaments, challenges, how-to-play screens, and in-game overlays.
Added animations and micro-interactions to make gameplay feel more dynamic and engaging.
Result
Successfully launched a new game variant without disrupting existing user flows.
Elevated app aesthetics to match brand-level quality.
Improved user engagement and retention through animations and polished UI.
Created a scalable structure to support future Ludo variants.
